Special Weather Statement issued November 15 at 5:03AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ There is an increased risk for fire spread this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values are expected to be between 20 and 30 percent during this afternoon with the exception of the immediate coastal areas. Wind gusts will be around 15 to 20 mph. Due to the combination of marginal winds and very low relative humidity values, these conditions could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly extinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources, including smoking materials such as cigarette butts. Burn restrictions and burn bans are in effect for some areas. Refer to your state's forest fire management agency for more information on burn restrictions for your local area. Critical fire weather conditions are expected for Saturday, therefore a Fire Weather Watch is now in effect.
