Red Flag Warning issued June 18 at 12:37AM PDT until June 18 at 12:00PM PDT by NWS Hanford CA ...Red Flag Warning Extended until Noon... * AFFECTED AREA...The West Hills from Merced to Kern County and the Kern County Mountains from Frazier Park to Tehachapi, and the San Joaquin Valley. * WIND...Strong overnight winds will begin to relax throughout the morning hours, however wind will remain gusty. Expect early morning wind gusts to 55 mph to relax to 25 mph by noon for The Kern County Mountains. Elsewhere, gusts to 30 mph will slowly relax through the morning hours. * HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values of 10 to 15 percent with local areas as low as 5 percent during the late morning hours after poor overnight recoveries of only 20 to 40 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
