Middle Fork Zumbro River at Pine Island 1S affecting Dodge and Goodhue Counties. .Widespread river flooding continues on the heels of multiple rounds of rainfall over the past few weeks, with some areas receiving double or even triple the normal amount of rainfall for the entire month of June over the past 10 days. Cresting is occurring at many smaller rivers with cresting on the mainstem Minnesota and Mississippi arriving later this week as water works its way downstream. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 AM CDT Monday, the stage was 14.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1000 AM CDT Monday was 14.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.5 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.6 feet on 07/26/1962. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
