Flood Warning issued June 22 at 6:57PM CDT until June 23 at 5:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...In Minnesota, west-central and northern St. Louis County, including near and within the city of Cook. * WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...While water levels are receding or have peaked, numerous structures are flooded and flood mitigation efforts continue within the city of Cook. Numerous roads remain closed across northern and western St. Louis County due to flooding. Lake Vermilion remains over a foot above it's previous water level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 653 PM CDT Saturday, emergency management and National Weather Service employees reported flooding continues in the warned area due to heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lake Vermilion,Cook, Tower, Meadow Brook, Gheen, Soudan Underground Mine State Park, McCarthy Beach State Park, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Near Trout Lake, Perch Lake, Angora, Linden Grove, Shermans Corner, Idington, Big Rice Lake, Bois Forte Band Vermillion Lake Area, Trout Lake, Wahlsten, and Side Lake. - Flood safety information can be found at www.weather.gov/safety/flood. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
