Flood Advisory issued September 27 at 2:05PM CDT until September 27 at 5:30PM CDT by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of North Mississippi, including the following county, DeSoto and West Tennessee, including the following county, Shelby. * WHEN...Until 530 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bartlett, Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch, Horn Lake, Millington, Cordova, T O Fuller State Park, Meeman Shelby Forest State Park, Memphis, Lakeland, Arlington, Walls, Midtown Memphis, Southeast Memphis, Frayser, Ellendale, Downtown Memphis and Whitehaven. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
