Washington County in east Tennessee... * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 232 PM EDT, emergency management reported flash flooding across the warned area. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Creeks and streams remain out of their banks, and numerous flooded roads remain closed. Main stem rivers continue to rise. Rescue operations continue. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Jonesborough, Johnson City, Embreeville, and Hampton. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Johnson City, Elizabethton, Erwin, Jonesborough, Pine Crest, Midway, Central, Unicoi, Watauga, Milligan College, Avondale, Embreeville, Leesburg, Telford, Hunter, Limestone and Sadie. This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows.
